On our local military base pet pages on Facebook, I am proud to see several service members and their families stepping up to volunteer their time as foster care providers. There is a great need for foster care in nearly all communities, and I think it is a wonderful way to dedicate your time to an animal in need. I believe this is a mutually beneficial option for military families for a variety of reasons, especially due to the inherently unstable nature of our lives.
